How come my 32-bit operating system would not recognize memory modules with capacity larger than 4GB, or fails to boot when such a memory is installed?

Category : Setup / Operation
The 32bit O/S sets address locations up to 4GB (2^32). It will not work with memory modules with capacity larger than  4GB*. We recommend that users install a memory module under 4GB on their 32bit O/S systems.
*When you install a 4GB memory, the available memory space of 32bit system is actually below 4GB. This is because the system address space is used by other important functions, such as graphics memory, system BIOS and motherboard components.
